About this product
This is the limited edition Murasaki (purple) Vestax VCI-380, one of only 40 units. It features XLR outputs, a mic input, autoloop, auto BPM, built-in effects, and a built-in mixer. Made in Japan, this collector's item commands a premium price of $1,000, over double the standard edition.
Our take
I was lucky to get my hands on this Murasaki edition, and it's beautiful. The purple finish is stunning, and knowing it's #7 of 40 makes it feel special. Performance-wise, it has everything the standard VCI-380 offers plus XLR outputs and a mic input, which are great for gigs. The autoloop and BPM functions are handy. But is it worth $1,000? Only if you're a collector. You can get a standard VCI-380 for half the price with essentially the same features. The build quality is excellent, being made in Japan, but the premium is purely for rarity.
